Have you tried your local rec. dept. They have summer rec programs that are usually run from 9am – 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Your child will be with other kids from the area.
Do any of you know WINTER volleyball DAY camps in Northern California? Preferably places like San Jose or Palo Alto. Thank you so much!

Winter clinics in Truckee, CA and summer camps in Tahoe City, CA at Lake Tahoe.
I’m moving from France to California this summer with my family.
My daughter is 3 years old and doesn’t speak english (or very few words), and she’s rather shy.
She’ll start pre-school in September, I’m wondering what we could do to help her meet other kids of her age and adapt to the new place.
It’s in the silicon valley (Palo Alto).

Try the local parks and recreation. The usually have craft activities and sports available to preschool age children. Or look into swimming lessons, or summer preschool.

Palo Alto has a great children’s museum and zoo that I believe sponsors activities for kids. It also has a wonderful public library system with lots of activities for kids like storytelling hours. There are lots of parks. If you simply take her to the park she’ll meet lots of kids there (and you’ll meet some moms, too!). The Palo Alto Recreation Department sponsors camps in the summer – they might have some activities for younger kids, too. Also, if you have a pre-school in mind, ask them for ideas about where your daughter can socialize now.
One other thing: try the local YMCA, they always have activities for parents and small children.
Good luck – Palo Alto is actually a great place for families with children, I think you’ll love it.

Have a little party at a local pizza place or something. Invite the kids from the class, so you can meet and talk to the parents. if nothing else, be involved in the schools activities and meet the parents that come to those.Good luck.
